We have entered into 2022 and it’s that time again when we talk about new interior décor and design trends. So, let’s check out what’s trending in the home décor and design realm this year.

1. Sustainability
We are well aware of climate change hence sustainability is the need of the hour. More conscious decisions are being made when it comes to home décor and interior design. Sustainable and eco-friendly choices have become the top priority for many homeowners. Recycling, upcycling, and DIY home décor is making their way. Be it furniture, home décor accessories, or building materials consumers are designing their homes keeping sustainability in mind. I couldn’t be more pleased as I have been practicing sustainability for a really long time and most of the things in my home are either recycled, upcycled, DIYed, or reclaimed. Not to mention, I prefer to shop locally and sensibly. A sustainably designed home is not only unique and beautiful but good for the environment too.

2. Private/Multifunctional Spaces

Experts anticipate a shift in design layout from an open plan to segmented or broken plan living spaces with dual purposes. We can call it a pandemic-incited trend. With all the family members spending more and more time at home, the need to create private spots is on the rise. A broken plan layout leads to a space crisis so making use of every inch of your space is a smart move. Spaces are being designed to create multifunctional areas in the house. A home office can serve the purpose of a study, teaching space, an art studio, or a start-up headquarters when needed.

3. Decorative Laminates Are Here to Stay
When it comes to the most widely used material in the home interiors Decorative laminates top the list. The use of laminates is not restricted just to the furniture, it can be used on various surfaces like walls, floors, cabinets, and countertops. Laminates not only enhance the overall look of the base material but also protect it from damage and make it lasting. If you are designing or decorating your space then the right selection of laminates is a key to creating an aesthetically pleasing and timeless design that will last long. Laminates are the preferred choice of homeowners as they are scratch-resistant, heat-resistant, stain-proof, low maintenance, and long-lasting. Decorative laminates blend seamlessly in any decorating style hence making it the right choice for the people who keep changing their house interiors every few years.

Glossy Laminates

One should never compromise on the quality of the laminates as it is synonymous with durability. For my recent project, I was on the lookout for a laminate that looks premium, lasts longer, offers a wide range of products, and is cost-efficient. I checked out various stores in and around my area and my search ended at a Royalé Touché store. After some online research, I got to know more about Royalé Touché laminates. These laminates are trusted by many homeowners and interior designers for the reasons listed below:
Their laminates are manufactured at well-equipped facilities with the latest technology and equipment. The brand is committed to quality and promises to deliver in 48 hours. That’s not all, Royalé Touché laminates introduce a new product every 4 days. Be it glossy laminates,
matt laminates, textured laminates, wood laminates, acrylic laminates, kitchen laminates, or wardrobe laminates Royalé Touché has endless options for you to choose from. Because of all these factors, I thought it right to buy Royalé Touché laminates for my project and I can
vouch for its quality.

4. Biophilic Design
Biophilia is a Greek word that literally means a love of life or living things. Biophilic design is an approach to connect building residents closer to nature by using biophilic elements like natural light, vegetation, natural view, water, breeze, and similar experiences of the natural world. More and more interior designers are embracing biophilia in both commercial and home architecture. Nature-inspired colors and textures are becoming more prevalent. Bring the calming elements of nature into your spaces whether you follow the trends or not because connecting to nature has always been a rewarding experience for humans. And when I talk about nature-inspired color palettes and textures, Royalé Touché has laminates in all those beautiful shades and textures that blur the boundaries between outdoors and indoors.
Apart from this use of earthy tones and natural textures will be seen too.

5. Vintage Marries Modern

In the 2022 interior design trends, vintage is coming back in a big way but with a good balance of modern touches. Vintage pieces aren’t just home décor accents but they also have a rich history and stories to tell. Mixing and matching vintage and heirloom pieces with modern home accents creates a timeless interior. Vintage pieces add a personal and unique touch to your space. This again brings me to the very first trend that I discussed in this post “Sustainability”. Using vintage pieces is a way to embrace sustainable practices. Repurposing old/vintage furniture will not only be a sustainable option but also be friendly to the pockets. If finding vintage and repurposing it seems a task to you then I have an easy and effective solution. Check out Royalé Touché for vintage-looking laminates (yes, they have all kinds of laminates) that will solve the purpose, and your home will still look trendy. Also, you will create a piece that can be passed on to future generations which they can proudly use as a vintage piece. It’s a win-win situation!!!

Vintage and Modern

That’s all for today. I hope you find this post informative and useful. What’s the trend that
you would follow without any second thought? Let me know in the comments!!
