Now let’s take a tour of a whimsical and collected home of Inda. It’s better when a homeowner herself tells the story behind each decor piece and how the house has evolved as a home. So over to Inda now!!
I will seriously call it a Inda style. She mixes patterns and colors beautifully and it’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. Inda’s passion for collecting has found expression in every corner of her home. Eye-popping patterns and bold mix of colors paired with beautiful textile is an art that Inda has mastered.
Inda loves mixing contemporary and traditional pieces. Her love for whimsical fabrics and bold patterns is clearly visible in her decorating style.
Inda knows very well how to play with patterns, textures and colors and how to blend them well in decor. With the use of so many decor elements result is not overwhelming clutter but an interesting expression of each piece that tells a story.
It is clear that the homeowner is seriously passionate collector of eclectic artworks, textiles, and knick-knacks.
It is impossible to ignore how beautifully Inda has utilized every inch of space in above image and not only made it functional but also an aesthetically pleasing corner. I loved how aptly all the quotes are given place around the home.
The master suite color scheme consists of calm colors with splashes of yellow, red and brown. In the master bedroom, the thing that caught my attention is how the pattern on duvet is combined with art behind the headboard and creating a cohesive look. Pillows and quotes are adding the personal touch.
Her son’s room is a perfect example of a teen boy’s room. Geometrical patterns, gray and off-white color palette with a pop of yellow creates a soothing combination.
Simple yet elegant that’s what I will call her little girl’s den. Though the stress is given on pink but Inda has added other accent colors beautifully and blended them well with different patterns and textures.
This is Inda’s prayer room in above image, one of my favorite rooms in her home. Inspiring quotes, beautiful hooks, colorful rosaries, wall shelf and a vibrant mirror, it’s eclectic, colorful and peaceful. Next to prayer room is an eat-in kitchen, the heart of the home that allows cooks and diners the chance to chat.Though Inda’s kitchen has yellow and orange color palette, she boldly introduced teal in the dining area and completed the look with pendant light in the same color.
Art on the wall and the chest of drawers are creating pulled together look.
Reading nook here is an extension of the living room. A generous size window delivers the maximum light to this space and makes it perfect for reading. Clean lines of bookshelves and soothing color on the wall make it a beautiful reading spot.
I truly enjoyed this very first home tour of this year. I loved how vintage pieces are paired beautifully with contemporary furniture and how masterfully Inda mixes colors, patterns and textures. January ki yaadon ka pitara. The very first day of the new year began with lots of fun and adventurous activities. It felt like reliving my childhood, filling me with positive energy and enthusiasm. The second week of the month brought an opportunity I had never even dreamt of. My son's hard work earned us the chance to attend a prestigious and memorable event in New Delhi, celebrating the 150th foundation day of the India Meteorological Department. The highlight of the event was the presence of the Honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. Another unforgettable moment was exploring Bharat Mandapam and admiring its grandeur. Though Delhi was freezing cold at the time, and I faced some health issues, overall, it was an incredible trip. The last week of January was spent at home, relaxing and enjoying my favorite activities—painting and upcycling. Mold had ruined my sneakers, so I painted them, giving them a new lease on life. 2024 has been an eventful year! I'm looking forward to learning more skills in 2025. In 2000, I was in an accident while driving my father's car and developed amaxophobia. I couldn’t drive after that, no matter how hard I tried. This year, I was determined and adamant about overcoming this fear. And yes, I did it! :) I was so busy with work and family that I couldn’t find time for my hobbies. But this year, I resolved to prioritize myself and revisit my hobbies. I learned watercolor and plein air painting—and yes, I did it! :) Learning new skills is my favorite thing to do, and 2024 was no different. I not only learned bookbinding and created many sketchbooks and journals, but I also experimented with different binding styles. Yes, I did it! :) It’s not just about learning new skills—I strive to perfect them. This year, I mastered candle-making and even created an informative course on it. I’m proud to share that some of my learners now run their own small candle-making businesses. Yes, I did it! :) I want to learn as many languages as I can in this lifetime. I’ve been learning a language for the past two years, but this year, I made considerable progress. All thanks to @duolingo and @duolingo_india, it was so convenient to learn a new language from the comfort of my home, anytime I wanted. Yes, I did it! :) By the way, can you guess which language I learned? Wishing you all a very Happy 2025! May the new year bring you growth, learning, and achievements. On my last trip to my parents' place, I gifted my mom a kurti set similar to mine, but in a different color. Since we were twinning, I thought it would be fun to get some pictures taken. While posing for the camera, we looked into each other's eyes, smiling continuously, until we couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst into laughter. We laughed together until our stomachs started to hurt. Some of these shots turned out candid, and they’re etched in my memory because it had been so long since my mom and I laughed like that together.
