Hello there, I am Disha Mishra Dubey I blog over at
Design Decor & Disha and that’s where I find solace. This is my attempt at putting my passion into words. I am deeply passionate about design, decor, art, and craft. I love these pursuits because they genuinely excite me—they drive me, make me eager to start my day early, and sometimes keep me up late into the night. Although I hold a master’s degree in Computer Science and have always wanted a career, I find it challenging to work outside the home as I am a stay-at-home mother, raising my child.

My Laptop is my proud possession. |
The day my husband gifted me a laptop (owning one had been my dream for ages) marked the moment my life began changing for the better. I was introduced to a whole new world of technology, which opened a door to discovering a completely new person within me: a blogger, a freelance writer, a designer, an artist, an entrepreneur, and, more precisely, a “Working At Home Mother” (WAHM). I found my passion—a passion that had always been latent within me, awakened by technology. Writing my own blog was a small step in the right direction. Blogging about decor and art for two years and sharing it with hundreds of thousands of people around the world has transformed the way I blog and the way I write. Technology keeps me connected to other like-minded people, and bloggers benefit greatly from it. On various social media sites, I reach out to fans, share my knowledge, build relationships, and stay connected with them. The picture below shows my fans and followers on various social media sites and the number of countries from which people visit my blog. Although it’s not a huge fan following, it certainly uplifts my spirit, boosts my zeal, and brings out more and more creativity in me every day. It makes me realize that so many people appreciate and admire my work. There’s nothing more rewarding than this. I could never have reached so many people without embracing and utilizing technology.

My energy booster |
My passion has led me to where I’ve always wanted to be. I believe passion is infectious. Now, I find myself surrounded by people who inspire me and keep me moving forward. Technology sparked my passion, ignited it into a flame, and then fanned that flame into a fire. The image below is my attempt to tell my story in a visual form, as a picture is more powerful than words. My passion has led me to where I’ve always wanted to be. I believe passion is infectious. How technology helped me achieve my passion |
That’s how I unleashed my passion. Looking back a few years, I can see that I’m in a greater and better place today, with my passion growing with each passing day. The only thing that keeps me going is, as Steve Jobs said, “I do what I love to do.”Technology not only helped me pursue my passion but also brought out the entrepreneur in me. Now, a girl from a small town and a once-simple housewife who kept her dreams to herself has transformed into a confident woman, inspiring and helping other women—and that makes me happier than ever. All thanks to technology and the wonderful people around me.
