Strings Of Marigold:
Nothing beats the beauty of real marigolds, but buying them in abundance during festivities can burn a hole in your pocket. So here is a way to make your own marigolds, provided either you have some time on your hands or you have some helping hands. Here’s a video on how to make your own marigold (The audio quality in the video is not very good, but the instructions are clear).

Now, what if you do not have enough time or a helping hand? The easiest way is to buy faux marigold strings that can be found in local markets and can be seen in abundance during the festivities. Though these are more expensive than real marigolds (a 4-foot-long string can cost you anything between 70-90 bucks), on the bright side, they are washable and reusable. So you can use them multiple times and can store them when they are not needed. I have seen some really good quality marigold strings online as well.

Apart from the liveliness added by flowers, festivals are about adding lots of bling, too. So let’s create blingy hangings. You’ll need thread, embroidery mirrors, marigolds, and hot glue. Here’s the process:

Lotus Tealights:
One more tealight that is super easy to make and demands less time is the lotus tealight. You can make them multicolored, double-shaded, or in a single shade. The supplies you will need are acrylic stones, a cardboard or CD, hot glue, beads, and tealight.

January ki yaadon ka pitara. The very first day of the new year began with lots of fun and adventurous activities. It felt like reliving my childhood, filling me with positive energy and enthusiasm. The second week of the month brought an opportunity I had never even dreamt of. My son's hard work earned us the chance to attend a prestigious and memorable event in New Delhi, celebrating the 150th foundation day of the India Meteorological Department. The highlight of the event was the presence of the Honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. Another unforgettable moment was exploring Bharat Mandapam and admiring its grandeur. Though Delhi was freezing cold at the time, and I faced some health issues, overall, it was an incredible trip. The last week of January was spent at home, relaxing and enjoying my favorite activities—painting and upcycling. Mold had ruined my sneakers, so I painted them, giving them a new lease on life. 2024 has been an eventful year! I'm looking forward to learning more skills in 2025. In 2000, I was in an accident while driving my father's car and developed amaxophobia. I couldn’t drive after that, no matter how hard I tried. This year, I was determined and adamant about overcoming this fear. I not only learned bookbinding and created many sketchbooks and journals, but I also experimented with different binding styles. Yes, I did it! :) It’s not just about learning new skills—I strive to perfect them. This year, I mastered candle-making and even created an informative course on it. I’m proud to share that some of my learners now run their own small candle-making businesses. Yes, I did it! :) I want to learn as many languages as I can in this lifetime. I’ve been learning a language for the past two years, but this year, I made considerable progress. All thanks to @duolingo and @duolingo_india, it was so convenient to learn a new language from the comfort of my home, anytime I wanted. On my last trip to my parents' place, I gifted my mom a kurti set similar to mine, but in a different color. Since we were twinning, I thought it would be fun to get some pictures taken. While posing for the camera, we looked into each other's eyes, smiling continuously, until we couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst into laughter. We laughed together until our stomachs started to hurt. Some of these shots turned out candid, and they’re etched in my memory because it had been so long since my mom and I laughed like that together.
